OUR BANDS


 Supertrad brings together some of the most talented and in-demand musicians on the contra dance circuit: Sam Bartlett, Eric Schedler, Dave Langford, and Owen Morrison. From their website: "Supertrad is the kind of contra dance band you would like to have with you in the zombie Apocalypse."

River Road is a New England based contra trio who delivers beauty, power, and grove to contra dances with a highly revered mixture of contemporary and traditional tunes. Sarah-Hadley Yakir, Jesse Ball, Kristen Planeaux.


Our Callers


Cis Hinkle: Cis has delighted contra and square dancers since 1985 with her skilled teaching, welcoming manner, playful enthusiasm, and masterful selection of dances. She considers herself a "facilitator of fun". She's in great demand at music and dance festivals all over the US, England, Denmark, and beyond. When not on the road, Cis teaches tai chi classes online and in her hometown, Atlanta, Georgia.

Will Mentor: Will is a contra and square dance caller from Northern Vermont known for his clear teaching, upbeat wit, and relaxed stage presence. He loves to choreograph evenings with a variety of dances and tempos that at times surprise and always delight, all the while keeping intact his guiding principle as a caller: "It's about the dancers!"

RUSHFEST! Enjoy contra dancing to pop music! As a local dance caller since 2013, Emily believes her role is to get the dance started and then get out of the way. She brings enthusiasm, energy, and clear calling to contra dances set to popular music. RUSHFEST! is a highlight at Feet Retreat every year!
Gaye Fifer is an accomplished caller from Pittsburgh, PA.  An active dancer herself, Gaye understands the subtleties of making dances particularly satisfying for dancers. Her instrucstions are clear and concise, as she was a teacher by profession.  An easy smile and delightful sense of humor are part of Gaye's relaxed, pleasant style at the microphone. Gaye calls contra and English dances throughout the U.S. and Canada.  She is also an enthusiastic advocate and instructor of contra-style waltz.
Contrazz Trio - award winning fiddler, Ted Ehrhard, critically acclaimed guitarist, Bernie Petteway, and multi-talented pianist Diane Petteway - all  from the Triangle of NC.

Sound for Feet Retreat 2025 will be provided by Jamie Platt of Dancing Planet Productions

Food for Feet Retreat 2025 will be prepared by a local Chef.
